For some, the question “How do you want to be remembered?”, can be difficult to answer. To those wanting to leave a legacy, it comes from a place of passion.
Meet Trent Swift, agency manager for COUNTRY Financial®. He’s passionate about wheelchair basketball and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (U of I), and is helping keep the Swift Legacy alive in the process. Check it out:
Trent recently hosted, “Hoops for Troops”, a wheelchair basketball tournament to raise funds for the Donald W. Swift Scholarship at the University of Illinois. Donald Swift (1924-1993) was the first student using DRES (Disability Resources & Educational Services) to graduate from the U of I. Donald was Trent’s grandfather.
Nearly 100 COUNTRY representatives participated in the basketball tournament, helping raise nearly $15,000!
Mom always said to put yourself in their shoes.
The COUNTRY representatives who participated in the tournament, really participated.
Take a look:
Our people are passionate and give back to their communities in meaningful ways. We asked Trent what community means to him and he replied:
“It means finding something you’re passionate about and trying to make your community a better place today than it was yesterday.”
At COUNTRY Financial, we’re in the business of helping people achieve a better tomorrow. We’re proud to see this happen in more ways than one.
