COUNTRY Financial® Supporting Clients and Employees Impacted by Hurricane Helene

COUNTRY Financial representatives continue to assist clients and employees impacted by Hurricane Helene.

COUNTRY announces the organization is donating $20,000 to the American Red Cross to support those impacted in states where it does business, including Georgia, Tennessee and Alabama.

COUNTRY will also match employee donations* during the month of October to the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army and Team Rubicon.

As of October 2, 2024, COUNTRY has received approximately 3,200 claims from Hurricane Helene, but expects that number to increase as power and cell phone service are restored. COUNTRY dispatched claims adjusters from its Illinois, Southern and Catastrophe claims to assist clients.

If someone suspects they may have a claim, such as auto or property damage due to the storm, please take the following steps:

  1.  File your claim promptly by visiting countryfinancial.com, using your mobile app or calling 866-COUNTRY (866-268-6879).
  2. If possible, utilize our digital claims experience by:
    • Filing your claim digitally on countryfinancial.com
    • Emailing directly with your adjuster when needed
    • Uploading documents and materials digitally
    • If eligible, using Electronic Funds Transfers for quick and easy payments
  3. Prepare a list of damaged and lost items and provide receipts if possible. Take photos of the damage to document your claim.
  4. When it’s safe to do so, take steps to mitigate further loss, such as tarping roofs and cleaning up debris.
  5. Keep receipts of all additional expenses you incur such as lodging, repairs or supplies.
  6. If there is spoiled food in a refrigerator, take pictures before throwing it out.

Once a client reports a claim, it will be assigned to a claims representative who will get in touch with you for more details. Depending on the type of claim that is filed, the damage will likely be inspected, and the claims rep will contact you to discuss further handling of  the claim.

If you are considering using a public adjuster for your claims, keep these things in mind:

  • Adding parties to the claim process can potentially add time to the process and additional cost to you
  • An adjuster’s fee may be taken from your claim proceeds
  • It may take longer to get your payment if the check is issued to both you and your public adjuster
