Why you can trust us

When we began as COUNTRY Mutual Insurance Company® in 1925, things were a little different. We only offered fire and lightning insurance, for one.

We’ve grown (and changed our name) in the 100 years since, but one thing has remained the same: Our relentless commitment to our clients.

Today, our mission is to protect the most important parts of our clients’ lives. We insure their cars, homes, farms, businesses and more, and help secure their future with financial and retirement planning.

Editorial values

Our editorial content is guided by three core pillars, and we ensure that everything we publish upholds the principles they represent:

Provide information: Present clear, accurate facts to help you understand your individual insurance, investment and retirement planning needs.

Offer support: Provide expertise you can trust to help navigate products and services and make decisions.

Impact communities: Make a meaningful connection with you, our audience, and make a difference in your life.

Content creation process

We pride ourselves on a meticulous content creation process. Here’s a general overview of how it works:

  1. Research: We don’t choose article topics randomly. We research search data to see what real users are asking and write to address those questions.
  2. Writing: Our writers have years of experience in the insurance and financial sectors and are supported by a team of experts to create valuable content.
  3. Editorial, Brand & Legal Review: Articles go through three rounds of review before publishing. First, our Editorial and Brand teams look for small errors and ensure the article’s tone matches our other work. Once those reviews are complete, the article goes to our expert Legal team for its final--and most intensive--review. Our lawyers review writing for accuracy, proper use of terms and compliance with state and federal law.
  4. Revisions: We’re not done with articles once they’re pushed live. As laws change, terms evolve and user insights grow, we review published work to ensure it’s still accurate, relevant and trustworthy.

Why it’s important to trust your insurer

Life happens, and when it does, you need an expert who’s got your back. That’s why everything we offer—including the articles we write—is there to help you, whether you’re a client or just visiting our site. When bad things happen, we want you to know who to call, what to expect, and most importantly, what to do next.

If you can’t trust your insurer in the worst of times, who can you trust?
